This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze and interpret health record documentation to identify all diagnoses and procedures relevant to outpatient encounter visits.
• Evaluate the adequacy of health record documentation to ensure it supports the assigned diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and diagnostic and procedural terminology to accurately assign codes.
• Maintain proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems.
• Review and conduct data charge entry in hospital and physician patient accounting systems for outpatient clinic visits.
• Organize and prioritize assigned work queues for daily assessment.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Must possess one of the following certifications: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.
• Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems is essential.
• Candidates must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States on their first day of employment.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of coding experience is preferred.
