This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Assess Jerry's property tax appeals product and rigorously evaluate its workflows.
• Identify processes or designs that may not withstand scrutiny from Florida's Value Adjustment Board system.
• Clarify the practical implications of Chapter 194, F.S. and DOR uniform rules 12D-9 and 12D-10.
• Elaborate on the county-level variations in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Orange, Duval, Pinellas, and Lee.
• Assist in understanding TRIM notice timing, the 25-day filing window, DR-486 variants, e-filing vs. paper submissions, and the §194.014 partial-payment requirement.
• Support the development of hearing and evidence workflows, including comparable selection, evidence exchange timelines, and condition-based arguments.
• Rectify product logic and customer flows prior to production.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience in Florida pertaining to the filing of residential property tax appeals.
• Personal involvement in filing or arguing petitions before a Florida Value Adjustment Board, or adjudicating as a special magistrate.
• Experience gained through actual filings or petition arguments rather than remote property tax advising.
• Background across numerous parcels with the ability to recognize edge-case scenarios.
• Comprehensive understanding of each phase of the Florida property tax appeals process.
• No existing conflicts with another company engaged in developing consumer property tax appeal software.
• Strong preference for Florida-based candidates.
• Capability to provide approximately 5–10 hours per week of consulting on an hourly, as-needed basis via phone or video.
• Ability to operate as an independent contractor.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada.
• No current or future requirement for visa sponsorship.
• Engagement on an hourly, as-needed basis.
