This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Puerto Rico.
• The Center Director will be accountable for the comprehensive management of all facets of the Center.
• Supervising the planning and execution of all CIEE programs.
• Leading, supporting, and developing the Center’s core team while ensuring the utmost quality and customer satisfaction.
• Guaranteeing exceptional standards of program quality and customer satisfaction.
• Overseeing internship opportunities, recruiting, managing, and developing academic faculty; creating course syllabi and materials, and handling academic matters related to students, among other responsibilities.
• Ensuring the student life team achieves its objectives in developing and managing student services, such as visas, pre-departure orientation, on-site orientation, and activities.
• Maintaining overall accountability for all center staff and faculty; planning and executing a strategy to fill essential positions critical for program delivery and operational development.
• Collaborating with staff to ensure adherence to CIEE standards regarding health, safety, and security.
• Overseeing the management of student evaluation processes.
• Serving as the managing director of the legal entity and undertaking related responsibilities.
• Ensuring that the operations team meets its objectives regarding the smooth and efficient functioning and upkeep of the facility, student accommodation, and housing.
• Developing and implementing strategies to enhance awareness of CIEE’s mission and goals within the San Juan community and engaging with all relevant stakeholders.
• Assisting in the creation of CIEE promotional materials by providing updates, content, and other requested information.
• A minimum of ten years in a leadership position within study abroad, international educational exchange, or a comparable higher education institutional context.
• A Ph.D. is preferred; however, a master’s degree is mandatory.
• Relevant work experience in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
• Proven capability to build and lead teams through complexities and challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and achieve strong outcomes.
• Experience in developing and managing budgets while ensuring compliance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of and firsthand experience with U.S. and local academic institutions, including their cultures and processes.
• Ability to foster trust and confidence among various stakeholders and effectively address sensitive issues.
• Proficient in communicating with students, U.S. university partners, faculty, local authorities, and CIEE staff globally.
