Cellular Workflow Automation Applications Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver pre-sales and post-sales application assistance for automated cell culture and intricate biology platforms.

• Facilitate live demonstrations and provide training for customers.

• Diagnose and resolve application-related issues.

• Collaborate with research teams throughout North America in areas such as cell line development, 2D and 3D cell biology, oncology, gene editing, and more.

• Influence buying decisions and promote the adoption of complex biology solutions.

• Enhance customer workflows.

• Cultivate expertise in microbial and mammalian colony picking as well as complex biology workflows.

• Work collaboratively across various departments within Molecular Devices and Danaher.

• Provide support to customers in academia, biotech, pharmaceutical, and government sectors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with laboratory automation, particularly with automated liquid handling systems.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with long-term cell culture, including induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

• Preferred experience with 3D biology, such as organoids, spheroids, and tumoroids.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, time management, communication, and presentation abilities.

• Proven track record of being solutions-oriented.

• Capability to prioritize tasks and deliver excellent customer service.

• Creative thinking and proactive initiative.

• Ability to work independently while also being a cooperative team member.

• Willingness to travel overnight up to 75% of the time.

• Must be able to lift approximately 30 lbs regularly.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Familiarity with automation scheduling software and image analysis is advantageous.

• Experience in customer-facing roles (FAS or technical support) is a plus.

• Candidates should reside in the Greater Boston area.
