Category Manager – Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate on the creation of comprehensive procurement strategies for Live Nation's technology expenditures.

• Oversee multiple concurrent direct negotiations and manage the entire lifecycle of competitive sourcing initiatives, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

• Provide guidance to senior executives regarding negotiation tactics, supplier selection and qualification, and contracting methodologies.

• Assess business, financial, and legal risks while formulating effective mitigation strategies.

• Identify, evaluate, and realize opportunities for cost reduction, cost avoidance, and additional value creation.

• Work closely with IT, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management, Finance, and Operations to finalize agreements.

• Direct the commercial and operational contracting process for procurement initiatives.

• Assist in the management of supplier performance and address any service, quality, or commercial issues and disputes.

• Act as the representative for Global Procurement with account managers at existing technology suppliers.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as business requirements change.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or operations transformation.

• Proven success in generating financial and operational value through procurement initiatives.

• Advanced skills in negotiation and influencing.

• Knowledgeable in one or more IT categories: software/SaaS, infrastructure, networking/telecom, cybersecurity, cloud economics, or IT professional services.

• Familiar with generative AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, including the ability to validate AI-generated content.

• Proven project management capabilities.

• Strong business acumen, particularly in contract development and risk management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to influence a diverse range of audiences from analysts to senior executives.

• Fluent in English is required.

• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• Candidates holding an Associate's degree along with a robust record of significant professional experience will also be considered.
