Cash Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Overseeing, reconciling, and enhancing daily cash positions, bank transactions, and liquidity for a fintech and cryptocurrency platform.

• Collaborating closely with the Accounting, Treasury, and Accounts Payable teams to ensure financial completeness, accuracy, and timely execution of month-end closing procedures.

• Accurately allocating and recording cash payments across accounts, ensuring that every transaction is fully captured in accordance with internal accounting standards and protocols.

• Taking ownership of the accounting completeness and reconciliation of all cash-related transactions and accounts, with full accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and supporting documentation.

• Creating and parking general ledger journals for bank statement transactions, maintaining well-documented GL entries that support month-end closing and audit requirements.

• Preparing monthly bank reconciliations with complete and appropriate supporting documentation, swiftly resolving any historical discrepancies or outstanding queries.

• Managing all accounting transactions related to cash operations and ensuring timely completion of all month-end closing responsibilities according to established deadlines.

• Reporting performance and process KPIs for the cash operations department, providing clear, data-driven insights to facilitate management decision-making.

• Handling audit and tax inquiries by supplying accurate accounting explanations and well-organized supporting documentation when needed.

• Working cross-functionally with Accounting, Treasury, and Accounts Payable teams to follow up on relevant actions and ensure seamless financial operations across departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in treasury operations, accounting, or banking, particularly with hands-on bank reconciliation experience as a core aspect of your work.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and fundamental financial accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

• Excellent numeracy and analytical abilities; comfortable working with large volumes of financial data and quickly identifying discrepancies.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; confident working with complex spreadsheets, formulas, and financial data without hesitation.

• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder demands concurrently while consistently meeting tight deadlines.

• Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated; you maintain a high standard of accuracy and ensure nothing is overlooked.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment where precision and accountability are essential.

• Bonus: experience with Treasury Management Systems or accounting software platforms commonly used in fintech or banking contexts.

• Bonus: familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset financial operations.

• Bonus: previous exposure to audit processes, tax inquiries, or month-end closing in a multi-entity or international organization.
