Cardiac Data Abstractor, Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize specialized clinical expertise to assist hospital partners by categorizing, coding, summarizing, interpreting, and calculating registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.

• Guarantee the accurate submission of all data within designated registries or data repositories, ensuring a high standard of accuracy is maintained.

• Effectively prioritize, organize, and meet tight deadlines for multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests; employs tact and judgment to manage expectations, identify obstacles, and propose timely solutions.

• Navigate unfamiliar technical systems, including electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; leverage team resources to resolve technical issues with systems and applications, focusing on solutions.

• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents; identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency in tasks and workflows.

• Stay informed about mandatory regulatory and publicly reported data requirements as outlined by federal, state, payer, and other relevant agencies.

• Perform any other additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recent direct abstraction experience within the STS General Thoracic (GTS) or Adult Cardiac (ACS) registry in the last 12 months.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Direct clinical experience is preferred.

• RN or LPN credentials or substantial clinical experience is preferred.
