Capex Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of ASC 360 PP&E and lease accounting, managing everything from capitalization costing (labor, materials, allocations) throughout the entire asset lifecycle to month-end closures and reconciliations.

• Maintain the capex-to-opex bridge to prevent EBITDA discrepancies.

• Assist with external audits.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, and Operations on forecasting and commissioning efforts.

• Manage the SAP framework related to accounting, which includes Asset Accounting (FI-AA), Project System (PS) for WBS and network structures, AuC settlement, and Materials Management (MM) for inventory.

• Oversee the PO-coding framework that ensures accurate capitalization, tax location, and managerial reporting during PO creation.

• Foster growth, mentorship, and development within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Active or inactive certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).

• 8 years of advanced accounting experience in a capital-intensive sector, particularly in managing PP&E and lease accounting (ASC 360 and ASC 842).

• 2 years of experience with SAP Asset Accounting (FI-AA), Project System (PS), Materials Management (MM), or similar systems.

• 5 years of experience managing month-end closures and supporting external audits under US GAAP.

• 5 years of direct experience in people management is preferred.

• Proficiency in data and analytics (SQL or BigQuery) is preferred.

• Proven ability to establish and scale a fixed-asset and lease function, as well as influence upstream contract and PO terms prior to signing is preferred.

• Familiarity with group/composite-asset methods, manufacturing overhead, and labor capitalization is preferred.

• Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced, unstructured environment, manage ambiguity, and set your own priorities is preferred.
