Canadian French Translator – Full-Time Term Position

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Convert English educational content into fluent, professional Canadian French.

• Assess French translations for linguistic precision, consistency, clarity, and terminology.

• Analyze English source material and translated text to detect omissions, inaccuracies, and shifts in meaning.

• Evaluate AI-generated French audio narration for: Pronunciation, Pacing, Cadence, Naturalness, and overall learner experience.

• Revise and proofread translated materials to guarantee quality and uniformity.

• Implement approved terminology and corporate language guidelines.

• Collaborate with instructional designers, writers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and translation stakeholders.

• Translate and review eLearning courses, facilitator guides, learner resources, presentations, and supplementary documentation.

• Assist with urgent translation requests under tight deadlines.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of translation and quality assurance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience translating from English to Canadian French.

• Native or near-native fluency in Canadian French (Quebec French).

• Proven experience in translating from English to Canadian French.

• Established track record in editing and conducting linguistic quality assurance on translated materials.

• Superior grasp of grammar, syntax, style, and usage in Canadian French.

• Experience with terminology databases, style guides, and translation standards.

• Strong proofreading and quality assurance capabilities.

• Ability to ensure consistency across extensive content collections.

• Experience collaborating with stakeholders, reviewers, and subject matter experts.

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to handle multiple priorities.

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with eLearning development tools such as Storyline and Rise.

• Additional preference for experience translating learning, training, or eLearning materials.

• Understanding of instructional design concepts and adult learning principles.

• Experience reviewing AI-assisted translations or AI-generated narration.

• Familiarity with CAT tools, AI-assisted translation, or review of AI-generated narration.

• Experience with enterprise terminology databases.

• Background in financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated sectors.
