This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• The Battlegrounds Campaign and Organizing Associate will report to the Battlegrounds Director and collaborate with local Indivisible groups throughout the designated state to enhance grassroots strength and assist local initiatives.
• This position is centered on training, coaching, and developing group leaders to create sustainable and effective teams aimed at winning elections and safeguarding results.
• The organizer will cultivate relationships with leaders within their state, offering essential capacity and support for both local campaigns and Indivisible’s overarching national objectives.
• A successful applicant will adeptly prioritize and manage multiple tasks, particularly during rapid response scenarios where goals may evolve, while maintaining composure in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborate with Indivisible regional or statewide Organizers to assist local groups and nurture relationships with local Indivisible leaders.
• Coordinate bulk requests for campaign materials with group leaders, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate follow-up.
• Provide support to Group Leaders for electoral needs within the state, which includes sharing regular program updates, public campaign information, and assisting in event creation along with logistical support.
• Aid in planning and managing in-state/in-district events with local groups and Indivisible activists.
• Act as the primary point of contact for group leaders in the assigned state, promptly responding to emails, outreach efforts, and support requests.
• Enhance organizing skills and fortify leadership pipelines.
• Implement calls-to-action (CTAs) that promote significant political impact.
• Collaborate with groups to broaden strategic, geographically-targeted volunteer capacity for voter engagement and election protection.
• Partner with the Indivisible Mobilization team to identify mobilization opportunities in designated areas and execute strategies accordingly.
• Monitor election protection threats in the assigned state, working with local groups and leadership from the Battlegrounds, Political, and Mobilization Departments to evaluate necessary interventions.
• Oversee the deployment of Neighbor-to-Neighbor canvassing across the designated state.
• Effectively utilize Indivisible’s digital tools (EveryAction, Mobilize, etc.) to recruit volunteers, organize events, and expand their base.
• Represent Indivisible professionally at local tables/coalitions and communicate key insights back to the Battlegrounds Director.
• Knowledge of political dynamics and key elections in the assigned state.
• Familiarity with essential Indivisible organizing tools such as EveryAction, Mobilize, and other digital platforms.
• Proven ability to foster strong, trust-based relationships with group leaders and volunteers.
• Comprehensive understanding of the electoral and legislative processes, procedures, and organization of the House and Senate; at least one electoral cycle of organizing experience.
• Expertise or knowledge regarding email deliverability.
• Awareness of race, gender, sexuality, and other identity aspects, including their intersections, and how these elements influence the work.
• Demonstrates self-awareness of their own diverse group identities and related dynamics, adapting their approach as required.
• Capacity to build strong relationships and trust across various identities, both internally and externally.
• An outstanding team player; embodies a work style that is flexible, respectful, collaborative, and agile.
• Direct experience as an Indivisible local group leader or equivalent grassroots leadership experience.
