C-UAS Cyber Security Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Define and guide the NCS security architecture, trust boundaries, and system-wide controls.

• Engineer encryption, identity/MFA, and RBAC for tactical and DIL environments.

• Develop secure cloud integration and implement zero-trust remote access for tactical data pipelines.

• Direct RMF/ATO strategy, create essential artifacts, and collaborate with ISSM/ISSO/AO stakeholders.

• Perform architecture-level threat modeling and risk assessments; establish design-level mitigations.

• Provide security supervision to Agile engineering teams and evaluate sprint deliverables for compliance.

• Represent the security architecture during government evaluations and TIMs; maintain architecture documentation.

• Mentor cybersecurity engineers and promote secure-by-design principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity/Computer Science/Engineering with 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity/security architecture.

• Active Secret clearance with the capability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

• DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IASAE II/III certification (CISSP, CASP+, etc.).

• Demonstrated experience in architecting security for intricate networked/tactical systems.

• Proficiency in encryption, identity/authentication, access control, and secure cloud/remote-access design.

• Strong background in RMF/ATO and practical experience in developing security architecture artifacts.

• Experience in threat modeling, Agile security oversight, and presenting to senior government stakeholders.

• Preferred: experience with C-UAS/SHORAD/LIDS programs.

• Preferred: security architecture for deployed DoD tactical networks.

• Preferred: experience with eMASS/RMF control assessments.

• Preferred: familiarity with DoD crypto standards and DIL network security.

• Preferred: experience in DevSecOps/CI-CD security architecture.

• Preferred: advanced certifications (CISSP-ISSAP, CISM, GIAC).
