This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +16 more states.
• Create impactful software solutions for automated endpoint management.
• Develop the C++ agent that operates on customer devices with elevated system privileges.
• Identify, install, and confirm patches on Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
• Construct robust installation and rollback procedures utilizing system-level APIs.
• Interpret and implement policies established by the mainline platform team.
• Evaluate code for accuracy, maintainability, and overall architectural integrity.
• Guide and develop senior and mid-level engineers.
• Recognize process deficiencies, suggest improvements, and ensure their execution.
• Collaborate with mainline, catalog, and other patching teams on shared responsibilities and integration points.
• Convert roadmap objectives and customer requirements into effective technical designs.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and act as a senior technical authority within the C++ patching team.
• Undertake additional tasks as necessary.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in C++ development.
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 and above).
• Experience in cross-platform development on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Familiarity with Win32 API and POSIX standards.
• Knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
• Experience with SQLite and embedded database architectures.
• Proficiency in CMake.
• Strong skills in Qt and Vcpkg are highly advantageous.
• Capability to work with system-level APIs and elevated system privileges.
• Experience in asynchronous application design and client-server architecture is beneficial.
• Familiarity with large-scale datastore performance challenges is advantageous.
• Must reside in one of the eligible U.S. states.
