Business Unit Sales Manager – Mining

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Accountable for driving the growth of Franklins Electrics’ mining division through strategic account development, technical sales leadership, and effective customer relationship management across mining operations, contractors, distributors, and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) firms.

• Concentrate on increasing market share within existing mine sites while also identifying and developing new mining opportunities.

• Sustain and enhance current mining and distribution customer accounts through appropriate levels of engagement.

• Generate sales growth by securing business within targeted customer segments.

• Cultivate relationships and finalize sales with designated regional and national customer bases.

• Transform non-customers into active customers.

• Maintain ongoing communication with existing regional and national decision-makers.

• Organize and participate in regional tradeshows, state and regional exhibitions, and territory seminars.

• Engage in pricing discussions and manage purchasing contracts.

• Enter contacts into CRM software to monitor progress.

• Carry out other related duties as required or assigned.

• Develop and lead mining sales and service staff within the designated region.

• Create short- and long-term forecasts, budgets, strategies, and marketing programs necessary to achieve sales objectives.

• Contract independent representatives to meet sales targets.

• Collaborate with product teams to create products that enhance sales and profitability.

• Provide product managers with feedback to address customer needs.

• Work with the marketing team to ensure that marketing materials align with customer demand.

• Oversee supervisory and/or non-supervisory employees.

• Conduct interviews and training for employees; plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance, reward, and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve issues.

• Collaborate with Human Resources on employee-related matters.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in business, business management, marketing, engineering technology, or a related field (mandatory).

• Between seven to ten years of pertinent experience in sales, marketing, product management, or a related area (mandatory).

• Current MSHA surface and underground certification is preferred; willingness to obtain required certification is necessary.
