Business Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Design, promote, and execute programs, services, and resources that align with FCF’s mission.

• Offer business and financial planning, consultation, training, and support to early care and education providers.

• Advocate for FCF and its initiatives.

• Engage with FCF stakeholders, partners, and community members.

• Provide training and consultation to childcare businesses aimed at enhancing practices and bolstering operations.

• Assist new childcare businesses and those facing financial difficulties.

• Analyze financial and programmatic data.

• Support program reporting efforts.

• Facilitate small group and community involvement activities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of four years’ experience in financial management, planning, and/or training.

• Proven experience in consulting, training, lending, and/or financial analysis.

• Experience with small businesses or owning/operating a small business.

• Capability to provide business and financial consultation and training.

• Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and analyzing financial statements.

• Skill in developing and managing budgets.

• Ability to think strategically, plan regionally, and execute plans effectively.

• Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to collaborate with a diverse range of staff, customers, partners, and stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.

• Must be capable of working on a computer for extended periods.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.

• Preferred: direct experience in childcare.

• Preferred: experience in resource development and/or fundraising.

• Preferred: experience in private-sector engagement and partnership.

• Preferred: experience in public speaking.
