Business Development, Research Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Design and outline proposals for sustainable finance and bid responses related to clean energy, sustainable transportation, debt instruments, nature-based solutions, and climate-aligned public finance.

• Conduct research on funding opportunities, donor priorities, and institutional landscapes, which include government procurement, development finance institutions, and climate finance mechanisms.

• Prepare research memoranda and analytical briefs highlighting funder priorities, sector trends, and partnership opportunities for senior leadership.

• Develop and enhance proposal narratives, theories of change, and strategic frameworks for bidding processes.

• Create presentations and supporting documentation for partnership discussions and client engagement.

• Oversee business development pipelines and monitor activities across various geographies and funding windows.

• Manage multiple workstreams while ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines.

• Collaborate closely with senior leaders and business development specialists to support business development strategies and identify partnership and funding opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be located in Nairobi.

• Equipped with a home office setup that facilitates full-time remote work.

• Recent graduate, preferably with a background in Sustainable Finance, Climate Change, or International Development.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Fluency in English is essential.

• Mastery of an additional language is highly preferred.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• A strong passion for sustainable development and the impact of finance.

• Highly motivated with a keen interest in learning and developing professional skills.

• Ability to work independently and deliver accurate results within deadlines.

• Proficient in managing timelines effectively.

• Ability to collaborate as a team player and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

• Research and presentation-building skills are viewed favorably.
