This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers in federal and state & local departments and agencies.
• Foster robust internal relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Engage with prospects within intricate organizational structures, focusing on leadership and operational roles.
• Navigate through government budgets and funding cycles effectively.
• Customize messaging to align with each organization’s mission and structure.
• Communicate using government-specific terminology and establish rapport with stakeholders.
• Advocate for Handshake’s platform aimed at early-career talent recruitment.
• Promote solutions that align with the hiring needs, priorities, and regulations of federal and state & local entities.
• Identify opportunities, articulate Handshake’s value, and enhance engagement with influencers and decision-makers.
• Contribute to the go-to-market strategy and refine tactical plans.
• Collaborate with account executive partners to build an early-stage pipeline.
• Acquire knowledge of and navigate government contracting processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, government relations, or a related field.
• Over 1 year of experience in business development or account management.
• Preferred experience within the federal or state & local government sector.
• Experience in navigating large, complex organizational frameworks.
• Proficient in managing prolonged sales cycles and influencing multiple stakeholders over extended periods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of adjusting messaging for diverse audiences within federal and state & local government.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
• Familiarity with government terminology and recruitment processes.
• Experience with recruitment technologies, talent platforms, or related services.
• Proven proficiency with AI tools.
• Awareness of federal or state & local government workforce trends.
• Understanding of government budgets and contracting procedures.
