This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Execute sales and business development initiatives aligned with the corporate mission, values, and departmental financial targets.
• Achieve the annual business development goals set by the VP of Business Development for Canam.
• Identify and assess potential clients (such as multi-residential real estate developers/owners, design-build general contractors, architects, etc.) who have construction needs in the multifamily residential sector.
• Continuously investigate the needs of targeted client profiles and create improved building solution offerings.
• Advocate for Canam's products and services in partnership with consultants in the construction sector.
• Frequently travel within the assigned territory, often on short notice, to cultivate and enhance business relationships by engaging with customers in person.
• Gather necessary information to prepare comprehensive proposals.
• Exhibit an energetic and enthusiastic approach to customer service, complemented by strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Negotiate, clarify, and elucidate proposals and contractual agreements to clients.
• Attend and engage in construction industry conferences, seminars, trade shows, and various networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with the pre-construction coordinator, as well as the estimating and project management teams.
• Build and maintain a robust network of contacts within the building construction industry.
• A minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in the construction sector.
• A degree in Business or a technical field; a technical school or engineering background is preferred.
• Understanding of building construction, along with knowledge of steel design principles.
• Capability to read, comprehend, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, technical documents, financial documents, and legal agreements.
• Outstanding negotiation, organizational, customer service, and presentation abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and CRM platforms.
• Experience and knowledge of acceptable sales practices in the building construction industry would be regarded as an advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the designated territory.
