
Business Development Manager – Workers Compensation Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Develops and implements territory plans that reflect a comprehensive understanding of the area along with effective travel itineraries.
• Collaborates with regional resources to gain insights into the variations in opportunity and profit potential across territories.
• Aims to establish BHHC as the preferred market among our agents and targeted markets.
• Actively seeks new agency appointments, arranges prospect meetings, explores opportunities for book transfers, and identifies additional sources of agency production, effectively securing agency commitment and driving the production of new agency partners.
• Tracks agency growth and profitability metrics.
• Proactively spots performance gaps, trends, and challenges.
• Formulates plans for agency profit enhancement and growth that foster profitable business development.
• Oversees agency partnerships to meet minimum premium standards and achieve growth objectives.
• Conducts in-person visits to agencies and attends prospect meetings, claims reviews, meet-and-greets, and stewardship meetings.
• Fosters productive partnerships by educating agents about BHHC’s value proposition, market opportunities, acquisition targets, territory objectives, and service model based on premium size.
• Engages in weekly underwriting meetings and contributes to discussions concerning large accounts, providing up-to-date insights into agency needs to secure accounts.
• Collects, assesses, and analyzes competitor data and territorial opportunities through agency visits and participation in agency-sponsored events.
• Collaborates with Marketing, Underwriting, and IT to enhance the ease of doing business through our templates, systems, and product offerings, ultimately supporting the success of the team and the company.
• EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
• EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the workers' compensation insurance sector (Mid-Level) is required, ideally in a Marketing or Underwriting capacity.
