
Business Development Manager – Workers Compensation Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.
• Develop and implement territory strategies with efficient travel plans.
• Establish BHHC as the preferred choice among agents and target markets.
• Identify new agency appointments, schedule prospect meetings, manage book transfers, and source agency production.
• Track agency growth and profitability while creating strategies for profit enhancement and expansion.
• Oversee agency partnerships, manage appointments, handle terminations, and engage in renewal strategy discussions.
• Conduct face-to-face agency visits, prospect meetings, claims reviews, meet-and-greet sessions, and stewardship meetings.
• Organize strategic co-travel with Underwriting, Client Services, and Loss Control teams.
• Educate agents on BHHC's value propositions, target markets, acquisition opportunities, territory objectives, and service models.
• Participate in weekly underwriting meetings and assist with opportunities based on industry, class code, and segment.
• Collect, analyze, and assess competitor data and territory opportunities.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Underwriting, and IT to enhance templates, systems, product offerings, and overall business efficiency.
• Keep Producer Profiles, Business Plans, Agency Files, Bravo contacts, and business activity reports up to date.
• Maintain President's Circle information and utilize it for acquiring new business and renewals.
• Participate in both internal and external insurance committees, attend conferences, and support charitable events.
• Provide assistance with special assignments and projects as necessary.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution is mandatory.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the workers' compensation insurance sector is essential.
• Experience in a Marketing or Underwriting capacity is preferred.
• Strong service orientation is required.
• Excellent communication skills with robust interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
• Capable of fostering and sustaining strong, collaborative relationships.
• Sound judgment and accuracy, with the capability to articulate decision-making processes.
• Proficient in planning and prioritizing tasks while utilizing time effectively.
• Regular travel within a designated territory is required.
