
Business Development Manager – Underhood Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Increase sales of Under Hood products to both existing and potential customers across all distribution levels.
• Implement and communicate strategic initiatives, sales promotions, and training within the category.
• Present and promote NAPA initiatives, promotions, value propositions, and training materials to store owners and installers.
• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and TSM/TMOD teams to ensure store readiness, manage inventory levels, and perform assessments.
• Conduct daily sales presentations for commercial customers as assigned.
• Provide valuable field insights to enhance sales and category initiatives.
• Meet territory sales quotas while training store staff on Under Hood programs.
• Cultivate long-lasting relationships with store owners, acting as a trusted advisor and business partner.
• Lead sales blitzes focused on specific categories within the assigned territory.
• Achieve or surpass monthly, quarterly, and annual financial objectives.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain effective communication with territory accounts.
• Provide both classroom and field education and training on designated product lines.
• Implement weekly, monthly, quarterly, and headquarters sales plans effectively.
• Collaborate with supplier sales teams to optimize product-specific sales within the installer network.
• Oversee and approve DEBI rack registrations.
• Conduct regular account reviews and keep management updated on key progress indicators.
• Attend, coordinate, and manage promotional events and trade shows.
• Share market intelligence regarding product opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in sales and account management.
• Demonstrated success in generating new business while maintaining and expanding existing accounts.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and adhere to company driving standards.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory, including long-distance driving, making multiple daily sales calls, and staying overnight as needed.
• Proficient in email, voicemail, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and CRM software.
• Ability to apply effective sales principles, techniques, and processes.
• Competence in identifying and fulfilling customer needs through persuasive communication.
• Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic sales environment.
• Strong focus on results and solid financial understanding.
• In-depth knowledge of product specifications, features, benefits, and brand differentiators.
• Comfort with CRM systems, inventory management software, and other sales support tools.
• Capability to utilize digital platforms for engaging with customers.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle safely for extended periods in diverse weather and road conditions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Willingness to attend events after hours and/or on weekends.
• Up to 50% travel may be required at any given time.
