
Business Development Manager – Public Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead the growth strategy and capture efforts primarily within CAI's Public Sector division, concentrating on the Texas market.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business prospects.
• Cultivate relationships with agency and commercial stakeholders, managing a pipeline from initial opportunity identification to award.
• Collaborate with CAI's Proposal Development team on responses to RFx and Statements of Work (SOW).
• Represent CAI at industry conferences and training sessions.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and public sector purchasing patterns throughout Texas.
• Develop and implement strategic outbound business development plans.
• Track all business development activities using the CRM platform.
• Work with the Marketing team on integrated marketing strategies to facilitate lead generation.
• Establish and sustain client engagement prior to sales and act as a liaison between public sector and commercial clients and CAI's technical teams.
• Assist in capture planning and strategy formulation for RFx responses.
• The ideal candidate should be based in or around the Austin, TX area.
• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or capture management, with a significant emphasis on public sector contracts; experience in supporting Commercial pursuits is advantageous.
• Background in the staffing and service delivery sector, including knowledge of Managed Services Program (MSP) delivery and similar service offerings.
• Familiarity with Texas state/local government procurement, as well as general SLED procurement, including cooperative contracting (e.g., NASPO, Sourcewell, DIR) and RFx processes.
• Demonstrated success in meeting or surpassing sales targets and securing new business.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce or comparable CRM software.
• Experience with GovWin, GovSpend, and/or other government procurement intelligence tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
