
Business Development Manager – Private Water

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of growth execution for designated private water accounts in California, including investor-owned utilities and operations & maintenance contractors.
• Align customer priorities with the execution from branch operations, regional sales, and supply chain teams.
• Establish trustworthy relationships with customer operations, construction, procurement, and regional leadership teams.
• Maintain a strong field presence with customers, branches, and project teams.
• Implement account agreements, pricing programs, and fulfill customer commitments across assigned branches and regions.
• Oversee projects, orders, RFP activities, service challenges, and operational risks.
• Eliminate barriers related to inventory, logistics, invoicing, contract compliance, and service delivery.
• Develop and execute account plans that align customer priorities with regional opportunities and Ferguson's growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities within assigned accounts and enhance market share through Ferguson products, services, technology, supply chain solutions, digital tools, and process enhancements.
• Leverage pipeline activities, customer feedback, and performance insights to foster profitable growth, improve margins, and maintain account health.
• Coordinate with regional sales, branch operations, supply chain, technology, and enterprise resources to address customer needs.
• Travel regionally 25–40% throughout California for customer interactions, project milestones, implementations, and issue resolution.
• Proven experience in account management, sales, or project coordination, ideally within the waterworks, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
• Capability to forge relationships across regional, district, and field teams.
• Experience in managing complex accounts that involve multiple locations or stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Salesforce and PowerBI is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance strategic alignment with hands-on execution.
• The ideal candidate should reside in California.
• Must have convenient access to a major airport to facilitate regional travel.
