This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify and prioritize high-value merchants that align with Wizard’s consumer demand, category strategy, and coverage gaps.
• Build and oversee a high-velocity pipeline, including sourcing, outreach, multi-threading, stakeholder mapping, next steps, and closing plans.
• Lead discovery sessions and present Wizard’s value proposition; manage deals from the initial meeting to contract signing.
• Negotiate partnership agreements that are launch-ready, addressing commercial terms such as affiliate and/or direct conditions, product feed requirements, reporting expectations, and onboarding scope, while collaborating with Product and Engineering to confirm native checkout requirements and technical feasibility.
• Take ownership of the internal deal process: ensuring alignment on pricing/terms, securing approvals, and preparing contracts, in partnership with Legal as necessary.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Merchant Success, and Merchant Operations to establish realistic integration and onboarding pathways, set clear expectations with merchants, and guarantee a smooth launch-ready handoff.
• Develop and continuously refine Wizard’s merchant acquisition process, including creating Tier-1 vs. Tier-2 playbooks, qualification criteria, outreach templates, pipeline reporting, and tracking weekly funnel health across volume, stage conversion, and forecasts.
• Create scalable acquisition channels through outbound prospecting, partner referrals, approved commerce/integration partners, and industry events, focusing on generating qualified merchants that can launch swiftly and monetize effectively.
• Coordinate with approved merchant onboarding partners to pinpoint qualified merchant opportunities, expedite handoffs, and enhance the efficiency of Wizard’s acquisition efforts.
• 5–8+ years of experience in business development or partnerships, preferably within retail/brands or commerce platforms.
• Ability to thrive in an early-stage startup environment where building processes, multitasking, and quick adaptation are critical for success.
• Proven experience in negotiating commercial partnerships and coordinating cross-functional onboarding with Product, Operations, and Legal teams.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following: product feeds/catalog integrations, affiliate programs, checkout/payment systems, marketplaces.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple partnership opportunities simultaneously, balancing outbound prospecting, relationship management, and cross-functional execution.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity; capable of establishing processes while achieving targets.
• Background in eCommerce, retail technology, marketplaces, affiliate ecosystems, commerce platforms, or merchant-facing SaaS. Existing merchant relationships are advantageous, but a proven ability to forge new connections through proactive outreach is equally vital.
• Equity offered in the form of stock options.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
• 401(k) retirement plan.
• Flexible paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
• Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
