This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, nurture, and sustain relationships with consumer technology firms and device manufacturers to facilitate multi-tier partnerships for the collection and recycling of lithium-ion battery materials. Coordinate efforts across multiple locations and global stakeholders as needed.
• Act as the main point of contact for consumer technology partnerships, overseeing the complete account relationship from initial engagement to the execution of long-term partnerships. Comprehend each partner’s product lifecycle, sustainability goals, and battery disposal requirements to position Redwood as their preferred recycling collaborator.
• Oversee the product qualification process with clients, grasping the technical requirements for recycling consumer device batteries, and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to manage qualification timelines and customer expectations.
• Responsible for ensuring the business remains on course—maintaining a robust mix of consumer technology partnerships, exceeding customer expectations, and procuring battery materials profitably by considering sourcing, operating, and logistics costs to support the production of the world's most sustainable battery materials.
• Recognize the detailed product roadmaps and sustainability initiatives of customers, aligning our resources with the appropriate programs and priorities while identifying future growth opportunities in the consumer electronics battery sourcing sector.
• Understand the value chain of customers and the roles of each player in the ecosystem. Direct global resources to manage the value chain effectively and negotiate various contracts (volume, pricing, and other terms) with customers.
• Oversee business development and operational management for Redwood’s Battery Bin program, including the development of partner pipelines, outreach, proposal creation, contracting, and expansion planning.
• Identify, prioritize, and cultivate relationships with Battery Bin host partners, such as retailers, municipalities, universities, nonprofits, and public agencies. Assess deployment opportunities and lead the entire launch process from partner qualification to go-live and continuous account management.
• Create partnership models and partner-facing materials for Battery Bin deployments, encompassing grant-funded, leased, sponsored, or paid service frameworks, along with pitch decks, implementation guides, FAQs, and related collateral.
• Monitor and report on performance across consumer device partnerships and Battery Bin sites, utilizing data to enhance partner targeting, operational efficiency, cost-to-serve, and overall program economics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, logistics, legal, policy, communications, and compliance teams to ensure partnerships and collection programs are compliant, impactful, and operationally sustainable.
• Willingness to travel 25% as needed for meetings, tours, site visits, and program launches.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sustainability, engineering, or related fields. A technical background is a plus.
• Over 10 years of sales/business/technical sales experience.
• Experience in the consumer electronics or lithium-ion battery industry is highly preferred. Direct experience with companies that manufacture, assemble, sell, or repair consumer devices is essential.
• In-depth understanding of consumer technology product lifecycles, sustainability initiatives, and circular economy programs within the consumer electronics sector.
• Proven experience in building and scaling partner programs, channel programs, or distributed collection and deployment networks.
• Proficient in English for effective global communication to lead account management.
• Strong leadership abilities paired with clear and logical communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with customers, even in challenging situations.
• Data-oriented mindset with experience in tracking program KPIs and leveraging performance data to inform strategy and enhance operations.
