This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive profitability and expand business within the (market name) market aggressively.
• This Business Development Manager (BDM) role is primarily a high-energy sales position with limited service responsibilities.
• Identify and pursue new business prospects by researching markets, pinpointing potential clients, and crafting strategies for engagement.
• Foster strong relationships with existing clients to ensure their needs are addressed and discover opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
• Formulate and execute business development strategies aimed at increasing market share and meeting revenue goals.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements with clients.
• Consistently observe market trends and competitor activities to devise effective strategies.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure a unified approach to business development.
• Report on business activities and outcomes (Key Performance Indicators) to leadership.
• Establish a strong sales pipeline that supports anticipated profitable growth while effectively managing the sales funnel.
• Handle complex sales that involve multiple contacts and potentially longer sales cycles.
• Travel to meet current and prospective customers to enhance sales and profitability.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in specialty chemicals, including applications or sales in metalworking, surface finishing, and/or water treatment.
• Strong consultation, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven track record in negotiating contracts and agreements successfully.
• Capability to analyze market data and formulate effective growth strategies.
• Solid understanding of market dynamics, competitor actions, and customer needs.
• Proficient in managing complex projects while ensuring timely execution.
• Goal-oriented with a proactive mindset in pursuing new business opportunities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and lead generation tools.
• Demonstrated consistent high-level sales performance.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with potential lead sources, including OEMs and mechanical contractors.
• Involvement with Manufacturing Associations relevant to the field of expertise is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight trips.
