This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Spearhead initiatives to identify, engage, and expand target accounts within the nutraceutical sector, meeting annual sales goals and developing a strong opportunity pipeline.
• Build and sustain robust, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers across various customer functions, including Science, NPD, Marketing, Sales, Procurement, and Logistics.
• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the entire product range—from ingredients to fully finished formats—and communicate technical and scientific information to a variety of audiences.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Technical Service, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to facilitate customer activities and business development strategies.
• Convert regional business goals into actionable strategies, address sales cycle challenges, and lead the preparation for customer meetings and presentations.
• Keep track of competitive activities, market trends, and syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI/SPINS), providing insights for innovation pipelines and new product development.
• Create and negotiate sales contracts, document opportunities and meeting summaries in Salesforce, and maintain pipeline visibility for all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with marketing on concept creation, co-marketing projects, and assist with internal product launches.
• Engage in performance management activities, regional sales meetings, and external industry events to remain aligned with business objectives and market trends.
• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline; a specialization in microbiology or nutrition is advantageous.
• Demonstrated success in new business development within the nutraceutical industry, with at least 5 years of experience driving growth in turnkey finished formats, probiotics, and specialty health ingredients.
• Strong network of relationships across key U.S. markets, with the capacity to engage stakeholders from technical, commercial, and operational functions.
• Proven capability to translate strategy into action, build and manage a high-value sales pipeline, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
• Proficient in conceptual selling and adept at navigating complex sales cycles within large matrix organizations.
• Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, effectively leveraging internal teams to meet customer requirements and accelerate business growth.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate scientific and technical information to varied audiences.
• Highly self-motivated, customer-oriented, and results-driven, with a proactive and ethical approach to establishing long-term partnerships.
