This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.
• Quickly establish rapport with potential crop insurance agents in South Dakota or Iowa and encourage them to partner with ProAg.
• Collaborate with existing crop insurance agents to increase their business with ProAg.
• Work alongside your leadership team to identify agents that align with ProAg’s culture, profitability, and geographical needs to foster the most lucrative business relationships.
• Be prepared to travel extensively and flexibly to achieve sales targets.
• Promote profitable growth through sales initiatives and agent-centric marketing strategies by acting as a trusted advisor.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with prospective agents using various methods, including cold calling, networking, trade shows, and establishing strategic partnerships.
• Keep track of competitors, industry trends, and client insights to define marketplace characteristics that will enhance ProAg’s strategic competitive edge.
• Conduct targeted outreach to potential agents, fostering long-term relationships that support ProAg’s business objectives.
• Collaborate proactively with agents to provide customized solutions that meet their business needs and promote profitable premium growth consistent with ProAg’s goals.
• Continue nurturing strong relationships with current clients through regular on-site visits and timely resolution of client issues.
• Build and maintain a database of current and potential producers.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the crop insurance industry and ProAg’s Standard Reinsurance Agreement (SRA).
• Ensure adherence to company policies and government regulations, including all relevant dates such as the Sales Closing Date (SCD), Acreage Reporting Date (ARD), Production Reporting Date (PRD), fund designation, and accounting cutoff.
• Monitor producer quote ratios, close ratios, renewal persistency, and loss ratios while adjusting sales strategies as necessary.
• Collaborate across departments such as sales, marketing, product, finance, and operations to synchronize go-to-market strategies and client solutions.
• Perform other pertinent duties and projects as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent education or experience.
• At least 6 years of relevant and progressively responsible experience in sales.
• Crop insurance experience is preferred.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while also working independently.
