This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +10 more states.
β’ Build, manage, and enhance relationships with major retail chains, wholesalers, and foodservice distributors across the U.S. Northeast.
β’ Drive new business development initiatives and boost market share within both conventional and organic produce sectors.
β’ Collaborate effectively with growers, sourcing, and operations teams to synchronize supply planning with customer demand and seasonal programs.
β’ Develop and implement regional sales strategies that align with company growth objectives and market expansion efforts.
β’ Monitor market dynamics, pricing trends, and consumer demand to proactively modify sales strategies.
β’ Negotiate pricing, contracts, and promotional programs while fostering strong, long-term partnerships with customers.
β’ Provide outstanding customer service while addressing industry challenges such as weather disruptions, logistics delays, and supply variability.
β’ Track sales performance, analyze market data, and deliver regular insights and forecasts to senior leadership.
β’ Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and grower visits as necessary.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in produce sales, ideally within fresh, perishable commodities.
β’ A robust existing network within the U.S. retail and wholesale produce sector.
β’ Established connections with major retailers, buying groups, wholesalers, and foodservice distributors are highly preferred.
β’ Proven success in closing deals, negotiating pricing, and managing complex customer programs.
β’ Strong analytical and forecasting skills with a history of recognizing growth opportunities.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven capacity to work cross-functionally with growers, logistics, operations, and leadership teams.
β’ Experience in selling both organic and conventional produce is considered a valuable asset.
β’ Willingness to travel within the U.S. Northeast as needed (approximately 25%).
