This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Oversee business development initiatives in Iowa
• Offer direct consultation, financial planning, training, and support to early care and education providers
• Advocate for FCF and its programs and services
• Assist in fundraising efforts
• Build connections with FCF stakeholders, partners, and constituents
• Collaborate with the Iowa State Director to design, promote, and execute statewide programs, ensuring program objectives and contractual obligations are met
• Establish and nurture partnerships with regional early care and education stakeholders and both public and private funders
• Provide training and consultation to childcare business owners, communities, and external collaborators
• Oversee the scheduling of program activities and the distribution of tasks among the Iowa Team
• Manage the execution of programs in rural communities
• Engage with state partners about childcare policy implementation, its impact, training, and capacity-building processes
• Collaborate with the Iowa Director and Chief Program Officer to develop and revise training materials and tools for childcare business owners
• Collect, manage, and analyze both external childcare-supply data and internal program data
• Supervise, train, mentor, and provide ongoing support to Business Development Specialists
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years in consulting, training, and public speaking
• At least 2 years of experience in community development or engagement
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
• Background in working with small businesses in low- to moderate-income diverse communities
• Some familiarity with early education or childcare
• Capability to deliver business and financial consultation and training
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing financial statements, as well as developing and managing budgets
• Strategic thinker with the ability to plan regionally and execute plans effectively
• Capacity to enhance FCF's positive image and establish it as a key resource in early care and education
• Flexibility to work collaboratively with diverse staff, clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing to team efforts
• Strong systems-thinking skills with a keen attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and embrace constructive feedback
• Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of working independently
• Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods
• Willingness to travel as required
• Must reside in Iowa
• Direct childcare experience is preferred
• Experience in resource development and/or fundraising is preferred
• Background in private-sector engagement and partnership is preferred
• Public-speaking experience is preferred
