This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• The primary objective of the Business Development Manager is to foster sustainable commercial growth by generating demand through contractors, installers, and architects, transforming them into Brand ambassadors for Millboard.
• Recognize and activate high-potential contractors, installers, architects, and other essential trades to represent Millboard.
• Enhance engagement with key trades across Ontario, converting them into authentic brand ambassadors who promote Millboard.
• Provide partners with the necessary tools and knowledge to advocate for Millboard over competing products.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, installers, architects, carpenters, builders, resellers, and other trade and specification professionals who influence material selection to enhance market penetration and drive demand.
• Identify regional opportunities and assist with targeted expansion strategies.
• Ensure a seamless customer journey from architect to reseller to installer to homeowner.
• Maintain organized engagement cycles with key contacts across all trade and specification audiences, ensuring disciplined CRM usage with accurate records of visits, interactions, and pipeline opportunities.
• Cultivate a strong relationship with reseller partners, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to convert demand generated through contractors and installers.
• Organize training sessions, demo days, and brand onboarding days in partnership with reseller partners.
• Educate reseller teams on product knowledge, customer experience, and brand standards.
• Assist partners in delivering a consistent premium brand experience.
• Influence project specifications and provide support for conversion efforts.
• Offer technical expertise to architects, specifiers, designers, builders, installers, and homeowners.
• Develop relationships within the specification community to drive early-stage product selection and enhance Millboard's visibility on project drawings and material schedules.
• Oversee and manage Millboard's enhanced installer program, building and expanding the network of Certified Installers across Ontario.
• Significant experience in technical, trade-facing, specification, or business development roles within the construction or building materials industry.
• Practical skills and confidence in delivering technical demonstrations.
• Strong coaching, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
• Commercial awareness and the capability to identify sales opportunities.
• Self-motivated, organized, and adept at managing a diverse trade network.
• A professional demeanor that allows for effective engagement with architects, designers, and high-end home builders.
• Experience working in premium commercial settings, representing a premium brand.
• Willingness to travel regularly as needed.
• An existing network within the Ontario building materials, decking, or cladding sector is a significant advantage.
• Possess energy, authenticity, and a passion for assisting trade and specification partners in achieving success.
