This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the external representative of DLB, engaging with potential and current clients within the data center and mission-critical sectors.

• Discover, research, and validate new prospects including owners, developers, colocation and hyperscale operators, general contractors, and design collaborators.

• Develop and maintain lasting relationships with clients and subcontractors that encourage repeat and referral business.

• Utilize MEP consulting engineering expertise to comprehend client requirements and effectively position DLB's services in a credible and competitive manner.

• Represent DLB at industry conferences and networking functions relevant to the data center domain.

• Lead the creation, writing, and preparation of proposals, qualifications packages, and responses to RFPs and RFQs.

• Convert technical scopes from MEP and design teams into coherent, persuasive, client-ready documents.

• Coordinate proposal contributions across engineering, marketing, and leadership to comply with submission deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

• Establish and manage a repository of reusable proposal content, project summaries, staff resumes, and past-performance documentation.

• Ensure that every proposal aligns with DLB's brand, quality benchmarks, and winning strategy.

• Create and sustain pricing structures, fee models, and rate frameworks for data center and MEP projects.

• Collaborate with technical leadership to ensure alignment of scope, effort level, and staffing assumptions with pricing strategies.

• Evaluate project profitability, market rates, and competitive positioning to guide pricing decisions.

• Assist in fee negotiations and provide pricing insights to leadership throughout the bidding process.

• Monitor, organize, and maintain the business development pipeline using CRM and opportunity-tracking tools.

• Oversee status, priority, and next steps for all active opportunities while ensuring data integrity.

• Generate pipeline reports, win/loss assessments, and revenue projections for leadership.

• Establish and oversee a replicable pursuit process that effectively transitions opportunities from lead to closure.

• Take part in departmental planning, leadership updates, and interdepartmental alignment efforts.

• Contribute to internal working groups and strategic projects across DLB as required.

• Promote technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives within the division.

• Advocate for the use of data analytics in divisional planning and forecasting.

• Ensure that technology investments align with divisional objectives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record in business development, sales, or client engagement within the data center or mission-critical markets.

• Familiarity with MEP consulting engineering principles, deliverables, and the overall project lifecycle.

• Demonstrated capability in crafting successful proposals and qualifications for professional service or engineering firms.

• Expertise in developing pricing structures, fee models, and conducting profitability analyses.

• Proficient in using CRM and pipeline/opportunity-tracking tools, as well as forecasting and reporting mechanisms.

• Ability to excel in fast-paced settings, providing clarity and structure in uncertain situations.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills at all levels, including executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external clients.
