This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Formulate and oversee the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy plan, ensuring execution across direct, non-direct, and cross-organizational teams.
• Manage business operations, including the annual revenue plan, strategic GTM revenue (walk) for growth, and revenue forecasting.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish the GTM strategy, define necessary products, and develop a roadmap within 90 days.
• Outline and implement Allient Watertown’s product roadmap and marketing strategy.
• Lead cross-functional teams in the development and launch of new products.
• Ensure consistency with Allient’s domestic strategy while facilitating global growth.
• Supervise the complete product lifecycle from concept through to market launch.
• Work alongside R&D, engineering, and sales to define product specifications and features.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to pinpoint trends and growth opportunities.
• Create business cases and ROI analyses for new product initiatives.
• Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns across various channels.
• Develop compelling product messaging, positioning, and value propositions.
• Direct brand management efforts to ensure consistent representation across all platforms.
• Manage Allient Watertown’s online presence, oversee content creation, and coordinate trade show participation.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop marketing materials, training programs, and sales tools.
• Work in conjunction with Program Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Intracompany Business Units to confirm products meet financial and profitability targets.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor marketing and product performance.
• Lead and actively contribute to opportunity development alongside the sales engineering team.
• Employ a sales engineering approach to attract customers by offering expert-level product and application knowledge.
• Partner with customers to ensure the success of their projects.
• Assist customers in the initial engineering phases (e.g., component and system sizing) and subsequent testing of products or demo systems.
• Collaborate with customers to articulate product, application, and system performance and functional specifications to guide both customers and internal teams.
• Provide a technical and commercial plan internally to secure projects, which may include business cases for investment in development.
• For system-level solutions, collaborate with the internal engineering team to create customer proposals that meet specifications, define scope of work, establish factory acceptance testing, and provide quotes for engineering services.
• Identify, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities within OEMs, Aftermarket, and other Integrators across targeted market segments.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aimed at growing revenue and achieving profit objectives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their unique challenges and delivering customized solutions.
• Work with engineering teams to design and propose tailored solutions that incorporate Allient products and other relevant technologies.
• Conduct cold and warm calls, generate leads, and follow up to convert opportunities into secured projects.
• Prepare proposals, quotations, and bid packages in line with client requirements and project scope.
• Utilize CRM tools (e.g., MS Dynamics) to monitor leads, opportunities, and pipeline status.
• Keep track of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handoff post-award for successful execution.
• Provide regular updates to senior management regarding business development activities and outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business; a technical and/or advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in motion control products, systems, and technology.
• Familiarity with the defense industry, including knowledge of budgets, customers, technology, and procurement/contractual processes is preferred as this sector is a focus for growth.
• Must be located near a major airport in the Northeast and be willing to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to Watertown for key strategic meetings.
• Proximity, with a home base, between Buffalo and Watertown is preferred.
• Proficient in CRM and MS Office applications.
• Candidates must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout the duration of employment.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Ability to cultivate strong, strategic relationships with key organizational stakeholders.
• Capability to learn about other Allient products.
• Experience with diverse sales channels, demonstrating proven leadership and the ability to drive sales.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics as well as requirements.
