Business Development Executive, Medical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Engage in selling, negotiating, and executing distribution contracts with major customers and corporate accounts.

• Responsibilities include drafting contracts, reviewing pricing with Healthcare Services Operations and sales and marketing management, and developing implementation plans that involve P.R.C. review, customer service, finance, technical support, and Healthcare Services management.

• Provide continuous support to both new and existing clients through regular communication, fostering relationships, and implementing strategic initiatives for account penetration.

• Track sales and gross profit while collaborating with customers to enhance marketing efforts, ensure compliance, uphold financial commitments, and drive profitability.

• Create and conduct customer business reviews.

• Interpret and relay strategic information to sales consultants and sales management to guarantee that competitive strategies are understood and executed by the Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Teams.

• This role will require recommending actions to address or respond to competitive challenges or service needs within the marketplace.

• Develop and facilitate educational sessions at company meetings to raise awareness and training related to large accounts and their support requirements.

• Collaborate closely with sales management, NASA operations, P.R.C., and Global Services to formulate sales/marketing strategies, ensure contract compliance, and implement activities that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

• Participate alongside Sales, Marketing, and Healthcare Services management in crafting promotional plans.

• Assist in creating programs and sales strategies for corporate accounts in conjunction with other Business Development Executives and Project Category Managers to boost sales, profitability, and market share, including: participation in selective tradeshows, Healthy Children Healthy Lifestyles events, preparation of presentation materials for customers and sales force training, and special projects assigned by the HCS Regional GM.


⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires 10 or more years of progressively responsible and complex professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in medical sales or marketing within medical distribution or manufacturing, or at least 5 years of experience with IDNs and large physician practices.

• Familiarity with medical organizational structures such as GPO, MSO, IPA, IDNs, hospitals, ASCs, RPCs, and physician offices.

• Knowledge of product categories, including diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, medical-surgical supplies, medical equipment, and related services.

• Understanding of medical market trends, competition, and key manufacturers.

• Proven experience in developing new and successful business initiatives and the capability to coordinate relevant services to integrate into customer programs and offerings.

• Basic proficiency in computer software, including spreadsheets, word processing, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with purchasing software and its interaction with ERP systems, encompassing AP and AR.

• Understanding of supply chain processes in a healthcare provider organization.

• Ability to articulate various technologies accurately, including punch out, cXML, XML, EDI, e-Catalogs, and hosted catalogs.

• Comfort with online transactions is essential.

• Knowledge of inventory management is a plus.

• Capability to deliver professional presentations to board-level executives.

• Skill in negotiating legal contract terms within company policies and guidelines.

• Previous experience in team selling is preferred.

• Strong business acumen coupled with excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, business planning, sales strategy, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.
