This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Recognizes, assesses, and seizes new business opportunities while building relationships with potential DOE customers and partners.
• Educates customers and partners about products and services that align well with their business needs.
• Broaden the portfolio within the DOE marketplace, emphasizing the growth of Atkins' presence at the Oak Ridge campus, which encompasses ORNL, Y-12, UCOR, and OREM.
• Oversee business development initiatives for DOE to support the AtkinsRealis US Nuclear sector and capture new business within the TN/SC region for both DOE and Commercial Nuclear.
• Discover new business prospects through customer engagement and industry connections.
• Report directly to the Sr Director of Business Development and contribute to the growth strategy for designated markets.
• Cultivate successful business relationships by offering a compelling value proposition to customers and potential business partners.
• Establish, nurture, and strengthen a professional network and customer relationships.
• Coordinate company resources to pursue and secure new projects.
• Create capture plans for specific targets that address opportunities, preferred strategies, competitive assessments, and business fundamentals.
• Identify collaboration partners, formulate teaming agreements, and secure necessary internal support and approvals.
• Collect market and customer insights.
• Participate in strategic planning alongside the leadership team.
• Accountable for the content of proposals developed.
• Oversee and support proposal initiatives aimed at securing new contracts for the organization.
• Responsible for acquiring necessary approvals on all proposals before submission.
• Manage proposal delivery to customers and liaise with all clients on inquiries and issues.
• Comprehend customer contracts and business planning activities in a broad context.
• Engage corporate resources to ensure that contract terms and conditions are managed appropriately.
• Communicate with and engage company technical experts and Operations personnel to devise solutions for customer challenges.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related scientific discipline is required.
• A master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 12 years of combined technical and business development experience with US government programs.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development.
• At least 6-8 years of experience in a business development role with the Department of Energy Environmental Management/NNSA and/or Office of Science.
• Commercial Nuclear experience is preferred.
• Established relationships with key leaders at Oak Ridge and/or Savannah River.
• Connections with both large and small businesses within the DOE market.
• Relationships within the Commercial Nuclear sector are preferred.
• Proficiency in capture management and business development processes and tools.
• Experience in key account management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential, both within the internal AtkinsRealis team and during customer interactions.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced presentation skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.
