This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Identify and engage potential biopharma clients.
• Meet with prospective clients to gain insights into their scientific research and determine how our company can enhance their efforts.
• Participate in networking events.
• Collaborate with scientific subject matter experts to secure sales agreements.
• Develop and revise the business development strategy for the assigned territory.
• Create, propose, and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual territory plans to achieve revenue targets and meet quota requirements.
• Generate new business by maintaining high levels of contact with customers and prospects, including regular in-person visits and extensive networking.
• Proactively manage a pipeline of 100 opportunities, ensuring information is current and documenting notes from field activities.
• Clearly communicate with executive stakeholders, including operations, marketing, SMEs, and project management teams, to provide prospects with organized and timely information for successful opportunity closures.
• Work closely and collaboratively with the assigned Project Manager to achieve territory goals and ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Cultivate and sustain comprehensive product knowledge to sell consultatively and recommend solutions that align with clients' needs.
• Ensure the accuracy of data in the CRM by maintaining updated contact and account information.
• Exhibit strategic market awareness to distinguish the Discovery brand from competitors.
• Attend conferences, trade shows, and seminars as necessary.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a life science discipline is preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of field sales experience in Life Sciences, CDMO, or Biotech targeting biopharma customers.
• Required experience in sales related to human biospecimens or cell and gene therapy.
• Proven history of meeting 100% of sales quota.
• Capability to engage with clients, actively listen to their needs, and translate them into actionable opportunities.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both clients and potential clients.
• A team-oriented mindset with a commitment to achieving Commercial Team and company-wide objectives.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs.
• Experience with SalesForce.com is preferred but not mandatory.
• Residence in the greater Boston, MA area is required.
