Business Development Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Build and nurture robust relationships with advisors, consultants, plan sponsors, and institutional partners.

• Collaborate with the RVP to implement territory strategies and foster growth in new and existing business.

• Actively identify new business prospects, promote FuturePlan solutions, and progress leads through the sales pipeline.

• Oversee daily sales operations, including tracking the pipeline, updating the CRM, following up, and submitting new business proposals.

• Assist in the development of proposals, documentation, and the comprehensive execution of the sales lifecycle.

• Offer expert advice on plan design and retirement solutions.

• Provide tailored, client-specific recommendations that leverage FuturePlan’s offerings.

• Conduct presentations and support industry events to enhance engagement and brand visibility.

• Educate partners to improve their capabilities in winning and retaining business.

• Track territory performance and align activities with sales objectives.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and product knowledge through continuous learning.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience for clients.

• Adhere to data security standards and exemplify company values in all interactions.

• Responsible for safeguarding, securing, and correctly handling all confidential data managed by Ascensus.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 6 years of experience in the retirement industry.

• More than 6 years of experience in the financial services sector.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• In-depth understanding of retirement plans, including knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to perform well under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Capable of providing sound advice and judgment within company guidelines and ERISA regulations.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

• Contribute to the sales organization through a strong work ethic and effective team communication.

• Possess strong solutions-oriented skills.

• Must have exceptional interviewing and demonstration abilities.
