This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Drive the acquisition of new clients by effectively positioning Thermo Fisher’s comprehensive capabilities in small and large molecule drug substance manufacturing, sterile drug product fill and finish, advanced therapies, and oral solid dose manufacturing.
• Identify and pursue new leads, qualify opportunities, and engage with potential clients to comprehend their needs while showcasing our value proposition.
• Collaborate closely with Business Development Executives to propel growth initiatives, coordinate communications with customers, and manage the sales pipeline using our CRM system.
• Establish robust relationships, deliver impactful presentations, and implement strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets.
• Discover, research, and assess new business opportunities, target accounts, and potential clients.
• Perform outbound prospecting through various channels including email, phone, LinkedIn, networking, and other business development avenues.
• Engage with prospects to understand their needs, challenges, and decision-making processes while effectively communicating the company’s value proposition.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with prospects, clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Partner with Business Development Executives to bolster growth initiatives, customer communications, and opportunity development.
• Aid in the formulation and execution of territory sales plans to stimulate pipeline growth and support revenue targets.
• Prepare presentations, proposals, and supplementary materials for prospective clients and business opportunities.
• Maintain precise CRM records, including prospecting activities, client interactions, opportunity statuses, and pipeline updates.
• Organize meetings, follow-ups, and transitions to senior business development or sales leaders as necessary.
• Collaborate across functions with sales, marketing, product, and leadership teams to align with business development priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
• An MBA or postgraduate scientific degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry, or CDMO environment, ideally with some sales or business development experience.
• A highly competitive, self-motivated, and results-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in conducting outreach and engaging with new contacts.
• Excellent research, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a matrix organization and influence without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to devise strategic solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 percent to meet customers, attend conferences, and showcase Thermo Fisher sites.
