This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +4 more states.
• Accountable for the implementation and management of various post-award and financial activities related to grants, contracts, and/or clinical trials within the Sponsored Programs Financial Services (SPFS).
• Duties encompass award setup, transaction processing, compliance assessments, cash management, collections, financial reporting, and project closure.
• Evaluate financial results, trends, projections, and performance metrics while providing root cause analysis to support informed business decisions.
• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of payment terms and schedules as specified in agreements.
• Independently generates financial reports ranging from simple to complex and monitors all internal and Sponsor-defined deadlines and content requirements.
• Ensure the completeness of all invoices and payments. Finalize project cost centers across all financial systems.
• Prepare journal entries to assist in the monthly closing process and ensure all financial transactions adhere to GAAP and institutional policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Familiarity with accounting principles, budget planning, and financial analysis, with the capability to interpret and apply fiscal regulations (preferably with a focus on clinical research or healthcare).
• Ability to evaluate, investigate, and resolve intricate financial and compliance challenges while exercising sound judgment.
• Previous experience in the financial administration of grants, contracts, and clinical trials, along with knowledge of federal agency regulations, policies, procedures, Uniform Guidance, laws, and federal acquisition regulations relevant to research and sponsored programs.
• Prior experience in managing clinical trial finances and/or ensuring compliance with clinical research billing regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in financial software and adaptable to new technologies.
• Strong MS Excel skills including sorting, pivot tables, filtering, lookups, subtotals, and basic formulas.
