Business Analyst, Financial System Implementation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee analytical initiatives to design, modify, and assess financial systems in response to federal policy updates.

• Maintain system descriptions and data elements to ensure a unified source of truth.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications.

• Foster agreement among accountants, budget analysts, and IT teams regarding system enhancements.

• Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training resources.

• Assist in audit preparedness through thorough documentation and governance practices.

• Examine, document, and address intricate data discrepancies across interrelated systems.

• Communicate technical system impacts in straightforward business language for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship (dual citizens are not eligible).

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and system design within a financial or enterprise context.

• A proven history of supporting the implementation, enhancement, or maintenance of large-scale financial management systems.

• Demonstrated capability to investigate, document, and resolve complex data discrepancies across interconnected systems.

• Strong proficiency in translating technical system impacts into clear business terms for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with Momentum Financials or Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Finance.

• Subject matter expertise in Accounts Receivable modules or federal accounting regulations.

• Familiarity with federal financial reporting frameworks (e.g., USSGL).
