Business Analyst – Credit Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee, maintain, and enhance credit policies related to origination and ongoing customer lifecycle management, including filters, rules, and decision-engine calibrations.

• Track essential credit-cycle metrics such as approval rates, delinquency, losses, return/profitability, cohorts, policy stability, and decision quality.

• Design and execute tests to evaluate existing policies (experiments and incremental changes), encompassing the entire end-to-end workflow:

• definition of hypotheses and test design

• alignment with stakeholders (Credit, Data Science, Product, Engineering, Ops)

• creation of specifications for implementation and production deployment

• monitoring, result analysis, and recommendations

• establishment of rollout plans, guardrails, and follow-up strategies

• Make direct origination decisions: approve/decline applications, set limits, and establish pricing.

• Assist in the development and enhancement of models by providing business insights to prioritize, set objectives, and evaluate performance in collaboration with the Data Science team (e.g., features, performance analyses, validations, monitoring, and iterations).

• Generate analyses and materials that facilitate decision-making (dashboards, deep dives, post-mortems), ensuring clear communication to both technical and business audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in credit/risk/analytics (e.g., credit policies, risk strategy, underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, growth with a credit focus).

• Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking: develop hypotheses, explore causality, prioritize actions, and suggest recommendations.

• Proficient SQL skills and comfort with large datasets.

• Experience in monitoring KPIs and constructing/using dashboards (Metabase, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

• Effective communication skills and the ability to persuade stakeholders (negotiate trade-offs and align decisions).

• Ownership mentality and capability to manage end-to-end projects autonomously.

• Nice to have: Python knowledge and/or familiarity with data pipelines and versioning.

• Experience with experimentation (A/B testing, incremental tests, impact evaluation) and applied statistics.

• Experience with pricing, profitability, payback, unit economics, and loss forecasting.

• Familiarity with credit models (development, validation, production monitoring) and/or alternative data (e.g., Open Finance).
