Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Gather, analyze, and document both business and technical requirements pertaining to payment flows, RESTful APIs, backend services, data processing, and merchant onboarding.

• Convert requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings.

• Collaborate closely with architects and developers to ensure that requirements are technically viable and in line with the overall solution design.

• Work alongside the Product Owner to refine and prioritize the product backlog.

• Engage actively in Scrum ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement sessions, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Offer continuous clarification to developers and testers throughout the sprint cycle.

• Create and maintain API specifications, interface definitions, business process models, sequence diagrams, and integration contracts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and XML.

• Familiarity with event-driven and message-based integrations.

• Knowledge of payment gateway architecture and transaction flows.

• Understanding of merchant accounts, MIDs, and acquirer relationships.

• Capability to interpret API documentation and collaborate effectively with technical teams.

• Experience with tools like Azure DevOps for backlog and requirements management, as well as Postman or similar API tools.

• Background in payments, e-commerce, or financial services.

• Knowledge of card schemes, acquirers, and settlement processes.

• Understanding of fraud, chargebacks, and reconciliation workflows.
