Burmese Over the Phone Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver real-time Burmese ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.

• Provide accurate, impartial, and confidential interpretation in immigration, asylum, and legal settings.

• Adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics and professional standards.

• Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests effectively.

• Engage in training, compliance refreshers, and participate in quality assurance audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in both Burmese and English.

• A minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting experience (preferably in immigration, refugee/asylum, medical, or government contexts).

• Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication skills over the phone; ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
