This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Create HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for various building projects.
• Analyze mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes to ensure proper design application.
• Collaborate with NFPA standards to design and verify systems.
• Determine the appropriate sizing for ductwork, plumbing, and fire sprinkler distribution systems within building structures.
• Utilize relevant software to draft and model HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems.
• Produce specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire system equipment using software applications.
• Examine HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler drawings/specifications to confirm compliance with requirements.
• Work alongside other engineering disciplines to meet project milestones.
• Show flexibility by adapting to and executing various additional tasks based on changing needs.
• May offer mentorship, guidance, and support to assist less experienced team members in skill development and career growth.
• Generally requires at least 2 years of experience in building mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Typically holds certification in the SMS Framework and is advancing through the SMS competencies.
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, is mandatory.
• Must have passed or be in the process of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam necessary for Engineer in Training registration.
