Highway Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Strategizing, developing, coordinating, and overseeing multiple projects for a diverse range of clients.

• Fostering strong relationships with clients during the project development phase and after project completion.

• Managing, mentoring, and collaborating with team members as necessary to create a positive team atmosphere.

• Keeping abreast of pertinent regulatory programs, funding requirements, design standards, and procedures through active engagement in continuing education initiatives and professional organizations.

• Representing SEH at project and public meetings with various agencies.

• Preparing project methodologies, scopes, and fee estimates essential for project completion.

• Presenting proposals to clients, conducting project interviews, and selecting project teams.

• Acting as an internal project manager and making key design decisions in partnership with the client.

• Performing intricate design calculations.

• Verifying the accuracy of completed work and ensuring adherence to QA/QC procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or the ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months.

• Willingness to travel as necessary for team meetings, client consultations, business development trips, and on-site inspections, including occasional overnight travel.

• Strong capacity to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

• Experience in highway design and construction related to WisDOT projects.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

• Design experience with any of the following: Microstation/GeoPak/ORD (Open Roads Designer).
