Building Assessor, Field Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site assessments of facilities and building conditions for multifamily, senior living, educational, commercial, industrial, municipal, and federal/military properties.

• Gather data on building systems, finishes, and site components utilizing company software such as FastField, iAuditor, AkitaBox, or Quire.

• Execute asset tagging and inventory processes, labeling MEP equipment with barcodes/QRs and reconciling with client databases.

• Capture clear, well-labeled digital images of systems and deficiencies.

• Accurately document quantities, serial numbers, dimensions, ages, and condition ratings.

• Assist senior assessors and project managers with RSMeans-based cost estimates and capital-planning data spanning 5, 10, and 20 years.

• Support the assembly of reports and technical writing as needed.

• Comply with all site safety protocols and maintain professional communication with property contacts.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in building inspection, facility assessment, or a related field.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in organization.

• Basic understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and site/civil systems.

• Proficient in using tablets, mobile applications, Microsoft Office, and digital photography.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work effectively in a team.

• A valid driver's license is necessary with no significant MVA points or violations (clean driving record).
