Body Design & Release Engineer, Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Engineer, design, develop, establish timelines for, and release production constraints for components and systems, including side airbags, curtain airbags, and seatbelt systems.

• Execute component- and system-level design, development, validation, timing, and production release.

• Review, validate, and authorize automotive component designs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design and development of interior systems.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of design and release processes.

• Oversee documentation and production release activities.

• Work closely with suppliers, validation, manufacturing, and purchasing teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 0 to 1 year of experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive components.

• Proficiency in CATIA V5/3DX or NX for 3D/2D model reviews.

• Familiarity with PLM (Teamcenter) for documentation and release management.

• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes.

• Experience with PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and management of technical sheets.

• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (technical comprehension and communication with international teams).

• Experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs is preferred.

• Knowledge of style freeze processes and theme evaluation is preferred.

• In-plant experience with tool tryouts, assembly, and program launches is preferred.

• Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949 is preferred.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Leadership capabilities in technical decision-making.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across suppliers, validation, manufacturing, and purchasing teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• A valid visa is optional.
