Body Design and Release Engineer, Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Engineer, design, develop, schedule, validate, and release body components and systems for production.

• Focus on vision components.

• Conduct design, development, validation, timing, and production release at both component and system levels.

• Review, validate, and finalize automotive body designs for production.

• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of design and release processes.

• Manage Product Bill of Materials (PBOM), Engineering Bill of Materials (eBOM), Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and technical documentation.

• Utilize CATIA V5/3DX or NX for reviewing 3D/2D models.

• Employ Teamcenter for documentation and release management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive body components.

• Familiarity with the metal shell or frame of vehicles, including battery trays, upper body, underbody, seals, metallic floors, roofs, pillars, and panels.

• Knowledge of steel and aluminum materials.

• Understanding of welding, riveting, clinching, bonding, laser brazing, and painting processes.

• Proficiency in CATIA V5/3DX or NX for 3D/2D model reviews.

• Experience with PLM (Teamcenter) for documentation and release management.

• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

• Management of PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and technical sheets.

• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency for technical understanding and communication with international teams.

• Experience or general knowledge of closures, chassis, and powertrain is advantageous.

• Preferred: experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.

• Preferred: understanding of style freeze processes and theme evaluations.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with tool tryouts, assembly, and program launches.

• Preferred: familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.
