Blade Lead Technician, Larned

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee contractor teams responsible for GE Vernova blade repairs

• Conduct blade inspections and repairs at laydown yards

• Ensure adherence to safety policies, protocols, PPE requirements, and relevant standards

• Promote proactive safety measures and carry out on-site risk assessments

• Coordinate responses to safety incidents with EHS, Operations, HR, and other GE Vernova departments

• Supervise or carry out repair procedures to maintain quality standards

• Confirm checklist accuracy and compliance with procedures

• Modify repair pacing based on project phases and weather conditions

• Ensure teams possess necessary parts, tools, materials, procedures, and PPE

• Facilitate effective communication between on-site teams and GE Vernova's EHS, HR, and Engineering departments

• Oversee daily operations and team performance in relation to targets

• Perform repair tasks directly if teams are unable to complete them

• Collaborate with the Site Manager regarding operations and project execution

• Act as the main point of contact for repair teams and provide updates on repair progress

• Maintain clear and prompt communication regarding project status

• Keep training and certifications up to date

• Accurately document site activities and progress

• Utilize Microsoft Office and Smartsheet for reporting and coordination

• Engage in daily communication with the GE Vernova Site and Project Manager

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of blade repair experience

• At least 2 years of experience in blade repairs

• Willingness and ability to travel between the Pawnee and Garden City laydown yards

• Current training and certifications equivalent to that of a regular technician

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Smartsheet

• Ability to work independently and effectively lead teams

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities

• Skills in leadership and team motivation

• Proactive in problem-solving

• Adaptable to varying work environments and conditions

• Strong dedication to safety and quality standards

• Capable of customer service and managing client relationships

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if required
