Blade Data Capture Specialist – Wind Turbine, Drone Pilot, External Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Execute drone operations while adhering to a high standard of safety compliance in line with industry best practices.

• Perform data collection, initially concentrating on external inspections of wind turbine blades, with potential expansion to various wind turbine inspection types and other energy infrastructures.

• Assist Operations in effectively capturing data across multiple sectors.

• Offer comprehensive feedback to product and engineering teams regarding Zeitview or other Original Equipment Manufacturer technologies.

• Formulate collection strategies based on specific project needs.

• Operate and troubleshoot remotely controlled devices in challenging environments.

• Maintain and disseminate current statuses utilizing mission tools accessible to stakeholders.

• Plan and aid in the development of operations training and workflows.

• Engage with local stakeholders to ascertain operational needs.

• Travel to and from remote job sites across the United States.

• Provide assistance with training or other special projects as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.

• Proven experience with advanced drone-based data capture methods.

• Willingness to undertake 75% domestic travel to support operations.

• Global Wind Organization training certifications or a commitment to complete the required courses.

• Ideal candidates should have prior experience in conducting external inspections of wind turbine towers and blades.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.

• Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments.

• Experience in implementing and overseeing client Scope of Work objectives.

• Ability to collaborate with various teams and individuals to achieve consensus.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to lift 50 lbs with ease.

• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.

• Willingness to work at heights.

• Capability to work outdoors throughout the year.

• Must agree to random drug screenings and background checks.

• Must be comfortable with 75% travel (3 weeks on / 1 week off).

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or clarify if visa sponsorship/transfer is necessary.
