BIW Design Engineer – GTI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee projects concerning the design and development of Body Structure (BIW) from concept initiation to the SOP milestone.

• Create master sections, conduct packaging assessments, and perform feasibility studies.

• Ensure timely CAD delivery of sheet metal in line with project milestone objectives.

• Collaborate with Project Lead, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering teams to enhance design and assess feasibility.

• Engage with stakeholders to facilitate design alignment.

• Manage the product lifecycle and part release utilizing PLM tools.

• Offer design solutions grounded in CAE evaluations.

• Prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, specifications, and design change documentation.

• Refine designs for weight reduction, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability, while ensuring structural integrity and CAE objectives are met.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E.) required.

• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.

• Strong technical proficiency in sheet metal manufacturing and body assembly processes.

• Familiarity with GD&T, sheet metal tolerancing, DFA, and DFM methodologies.

• Practical experience using Teamcenter and ENOVIA PLM tools.

• Basic knowledge of structural analysis and CAE tools/delivery.

• Expertise in CATIA V5 and V6 software.

• Experience with ENOVIA PLM for managing product lifecycles and part releases.

• Proficiency in English is essential.
